Roadmap

Short-term Goals

(0 to 6 months)

Implement VPN Mode

Enable tunneling for UDP and TCP connections while ensuring that the server IP remains hidden. Currently, only HTTP requests are routed through the tunnel.

Customization tool

Strengthen security by implementing additional measures such as:

  • Fail2Ban or similar intrusion prevention mechanisms
  • Other advanced security controls to mitigate potential threats

Improve Custom Domain Support

Enhance the ability for users to use their own custom domains more seamlessly.

Support Multiple Free Domains per User

Allow users to register and manage multiple free subdomains under NSL.SH.

Mid-term Goals

(6 to 12 months)

Comprehensive Security Audits and Pentesting

Conduct in-depth penetration testing and security audits to identify and address vulnerabilities, ensuring a robust and resilient infrastructure.

Scalability and Performance Improvements

Optimize the infrastructure to handle a larger user base while maintaining speed and reliability. Expand the edge server network to improve request handling and deliver faster, localized responses.

Long-term Goals

(12+ months)

Advanced Privacy Features

Explore zero-knowledge proof systems or other privacy-enhancing technologies for secure domain routing.

Expand Free Domain Options

Integrate additional free short domains (e.g., xxx.zz) instead of limiting users to nsl.sh.

Transition to a Non-Profit Organization and Establish a Community Governance Model

Structure NSL.SH as a non-lucrative entity to ensure long-term sustainability and community-driven maintenance. Develop a structured governance model involving contributors and the broader community.
